The first international family attraction based on hit kids property Shaun the Sheep will launch in Sweden next summer, thanks to a new partnership between UK-based Aardman Rights and Nordic wilderness zoo Skånes Djurpark.

Budgeted at around US$7.7 million, Shaun the Sheep Land will offer a fully immersive experience in accordance with Skånes Djurpark’s six core values—play, learn, share, explore, magic and excitement.

Owned by The Lund Group, one of Europe’s oldest entertainment companies, Skånes Djurpark is located in Hoor, Sweden and is touted as the world’s largest wilderness park featuring Nordic animals including bears, lynx, wolves, seals, wild boar and birds of prey.

The park officially opened in 1952 and is renowned for programs that nurture and protect traditional farm animal breeds.

Since becoming a hit stop-motion TV series for the creators of Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep is now a global brand encompassing consumer products, video games, themed promotions and movies.

The first Shaun the Sheep attraction based in the UK, the Shaun the Sheep Experience, opened at Land’s End in Cornwall in February following the global release of Shaun the Sheep The Movie.
