Genius Brands International has added two classic animated series to the lineup for its new Kid Genius channel, which debuts on cable service provider Comcast’s Xfinity On Demand platform later this summer.

Joining the schedule is Emmy award-winning series Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego and Denace the Menace, based on the comic strip by Hank Ketcham. Targeting toddlers to tweens, the Kid Genius channel will also feature original programming from GBI such as Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab, Llama Llama and Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club.

Children’s media expert Don Roberts has been tapped to help define content acquisition guidelines for the new broadcaster and design a program code that addresses sensitive issues such as violence, negative stereotypes, the environment and inappropriate language.

GBI will announce its full Kid Genius programming schedule ahead of the September 1 launch.
