Amsterdam’s The Dreamchaser Company has secured three licensing deals to kick off a consumer products program for its popular book-based preschool series Wusel & Pip in Germany this fall.

Egmont Publishing has signed on to release a picture book and coloring book on September 3, and these lead products will be followed by the first DVD release of the 2D-animated series from Universum Film on September 11. Then in January, NICI will introduce a full Wusel & Pip merchandising range featuring plush toys and school items.

Wusel & Pip (or Woozle & Pip as it’s known outside of Germany) is based on a bestselling children’s book series of the same name from the late Dutch author Guusje Nederhorst. Co-produced by Dutch broadcaster KRO NCRV Youth and distributed internationally by CAKE, the series has been performing well on German pubcaster KiKA since it launched last September, with stories based around the adventures of two lovable dogs who live, learn and play with their friends in a magical garden.
