Playmobil is entering the Canadian and US licensing arena for the first-time ever following a deal with the National Hockey League for a line of figures and play sets.

The initial range of 16 play sets will feature players and goalies with interactive functions, including skater shooting and puck-stopping goalie action, from the NHL’s original six teams—Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers and Boston Bruins.

The line will also feature a full ice rink with score-keeper, a Zamboni ice resurfacing machine, NHL referees and the Stanley Cup trophy.

Playmobil is launching products in time for the start of the NHL’s 2015-2016 season in October, and more of the professional hockey league’s 24 other teams are expected to be added to the line over time.
