Studio 100 Media, Universum Film to co-produce Princess Emmy movie

Munich, Germany-based Studio 100 Media and Universum Film are partnering on animated feature film Princess Emmy - The Movie based on the book series from Egmont's German publishing arm.

Studio 100 Media and Universum Film, winners of best animated film at the 2014 Bavarian Film Awards for Maya the Bee—The Movie, are once again joining forces on a kids feature flick.

The Munich, Germany-based companies are co-producing Princess Emmy—The Movie, which follows the adventures of a young princess and her 26 horses (whose names correspond to each letter in the alphabet).

Piet de Rycker (Laura’s Star, The Little Polar Bear) is on-board as scriptwriter. He will be taking the young princess who can talk to horses from Egmont Ehapa Media’s Emmy publishing program to the big screen for the first time.

Featuring themes of friendship, courage and discovery, Princess Emmy—The Movie will hit theaters in 2017.
