Just a month in since its US debut, live-actioner Make It Pop has already been greenlit for a second season by Nickelodeon.
The kidcaster has commissioned DHX Media to produce 20 new episodes of the music-infused series out of its Toronto-based Epitome Studio.
Since the show’s April 6 premiere on Nickelodeon, Make It Pop has ranked as the channel’s top show with kids six to 11 and girls six to 11. It’s also the most-watched long-form program on Nick.com and the Nick App.
Co-created by executive producers Tommy Lynch and Nick Cannon, Make It Pop is fuelled by the antics of social media maven Sun Hi, bookish Corki and fashion-forward Jodi, who team up with aspiring DJ Caleb to form a K-Pop type of band.
Season one is set to roll out on Nickelodeon’s international channels starting this summer.
