Shopkins bags 16 new licensees

Global phenomenon Shopkins has added 16 new licensees in Canada and the US to its growing portfolio.

Fresh off of winning the prized girls toy of the year award (TOTY) for its small mart playset, Shopkins by Australia’s Moose Toys has bagged 16 new American and Canadian licensees.

On the retail front, new licensees include Ashko Group (footwear), Bentex Group (fashion tops, mass t-shirts), Intimo (sleep/lounge wear), Mighty Fine (fashion tops, mid-tier/specialty t-shirts) and NTD Apparel (master apparel-Canada only).

For games and toys, Blue Orange Games (Spot it! co-branded games), Cardinal Games (co-branded games), Radz (novelty toy/candy dispensers) and The Bridge Direct (construction toys/activities) have all come aboard.

Also on deck are new licensees Trends International (posters), Ashtel (oral care), Mrs. Grossman (sticker program), Global Design Concepts (bags), Jakks Pacific (disguise Halloween costumes), Jay Franco (bedding/linens) and Tech 4 Kids (novelty lighting).

Shopkins now has 25 licensees in North America, through deals brokered by Toronto, Canada-based The Licensing Shop.

Since launching at retail in June 2014, the grocery-themed mini collectibles have captivated young girls across the world, driving global sales to more than 70 million. Additionally, Shopkins webisodes and fan videos have racked up more than 400 million views and counting.
