Turner Broadcasting System has acquired more than 800 minutes of new Mattel content featuring hit brands such as Max Steel and Barbie for Cartoon Network and its newly rebranded Boomerang channel in Latin America.

The programming spans movies, features and webisodes, and started airing in the region last month in Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil).

The Barbie package includes three new 75-minute animated movies—Barbie in Princess Power, Barbie in Rock N Royals and Barbie and her Sisters in The Great Puppy Adventure. And two brand-new CG-animated Monster High movies—Monster High: Haunted and Boo York, Boo York—will also be joining the channels’ lineups.

For leading boys brand Hot Wheels, CG-animated specials Team Hot Wheels: Skill to Thrill and Team Hot Wheels: Build the Epic Race were part of the buy, along with three 44-minute Max Steel movies—The Wrath of Makino (pictured), The Dawn of Morphos and Maximum Morphos.

This acquisition comes as Mattel, which recently named Christopher Sinclair as its permanent CEO, continues to work through a major restructuring.
