New Netflix original series DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge has been slated to debut exclusively on the American SVOD service on June 26.
Based on DreamWorks’ popular How to Train Your Dragon feature film franchise, Race to the Edge catches up with Hiccup, Toothless and the other Dragon Riders as they find the mysterious Dragon Eye, an ancient artefact that leads them to strange lands filled with undiscovered dragons.
Weaving a continuous story line, the 13-ep series is designed to work in tandem with the existing movies and DVD releases, letting fans delve deeper into the DreamWorks IP’s popular dragon lore.
Actors Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera, who voice Hiccup and Astrid in the feature films, reprise their roles in the series along with Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Fishlegs) and TJ Miller (Tuffnut).
On the film horizon, How to Train Your Dragon 3 is currently slated for a US theatrical release in 2018.
