Mickey Mouse, and his longtime friends Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy and Donald, is getting a brand-new Disney Junior adventure series that blends CG animation with live-action footage.
Mickey and the Roadster Racers from Disney Television Animation is in early production and the series for kids ages two to seven is expected to debut on Disney Junior’s worldwide channels and programming blocks in 2017.
The action-packed comedic series follows Mickey and the gang as they take part in car races around the globe and in their hometown of Hot Dog Hills.
Featuring cool customized vehicles, the series will encourage social and emotional lessons about friendship, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
Rob LaDuca is executive producing alongside co-executive producer and supervising story editor Mark Seidenberg. Both have worked on Disney Junior’s hit series Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Thomas Hart, whose TV writing credits for Disney include Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Lilo and Stitch: The Series, is serving as story editor.
