Cartoon Network Games and Grumpyface Studios have teamed up to release a new Steven Universe-inspired mobile game called Attack the Light.

Now available on iOS, Android and Amazon platforms, the game (US$2.99) is the first in the Steven Universe stable to feature an original story from creator Rebecca Sugar and the TV show’s team.

Designed specifically for mobile devices, Attack the Light is a new light-action role-playing game that lets players explore, solve puzzles and use a turn-based battle system inspired by classic video games.

In the mobile app, players team up as Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst and Steven to stop a powerful Gem weapon.

Since launching on April 2, the game has jumped up the US Apple App Store charts. On April 3, it ranked as the #1 paid app on iPhone, the #1 kids app on iPhone and iPad, and #1 role playing game on iPhone and iPad, as per App Annie stats.

Steven Universe is CN’s first show with a solo female creator in 21 years. The animated comedy follows the misadventures of a boy named Steven, the ultimate little brother to a team of magical guardians of humanity, the Crystal Gems. Created by artist, composer and director Rebecca Sugar, the series bowed in the US on November 4, 2013.
