Disney EMEA has greenlit production for a full season of The Evermoor Chronicles, a spin-off of its hit live-action miniseries Evermoor.
The new season (20 x 22 minutes) builds on the success of the original four-part miniseries, which attracted 1.6 million viewers in the UK. As one of Disney’s most popular local live-action productions, Evermoor saw one in five girls ages eight to 12 watching the miniseries’ UK debut last October.
Filming on the full series begins this summer, with a premiere slated for later this year on the Disney Channel in yet-to-be announced countries.
UK-based production company Lime Pictures has returned to produce and will be working out of the prodco’s Liverpool site, before moving to a location in Warrington, England.
The Evermoor miniseries follows the story of Tara Bailey, an American teen who finds herself adjusting to life in a spooky remote village in middle England. Together with her brother Jake and British step-siblings Seb and Bella, Bailey falls into a web of intrigue and finds herself fighting to save her family home, Evermoor Manor.
The Evermoor Chronicles will also focus on themes of teen friendship, family and romance, set in a mysterious world.
The series was co-created by Diane Whitley and co-creator/ producer Tim Compton. Compton returns to the helm, alongside writer and executive producer Bede Blake (House of Anubis, Strange Hill High), and executive producer Rebecca Hodgson (Good Cop).
