Teen actress Landry Bender from Disney XD’s Crash & Bernstein is set to star in her own live-action comedy series, Best Friends Whenever, thanks to a straight-to-series order from Disney Channel.

The new series centers on the time-travelling high school misadventures of teenagers Cyd (Bender) and Shelby (newcomer Lauren Taylor) who discover they have time-shifting powers after a science experiment goes awry.

To master their new skills, the girls enlist the help of their next-door neighbor Barry, a teenage genius played by Gus Kamp (Deadtime Stories: The Beast of Baskerville).

Created by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas (both of Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja), Best Friends Whenever will be executive produced by Dog with a Blog‘s Michael Kaplan, along with Elinoff and Thomas.

Production will begin in March for a premiere later this year.

The new order comes on the heels of another straight-to-series greenlight from Disney Channel—a yet-to-be-titled Jessie spin-off with Peyton List, Karan Brar and Skai Jackson all reprising their roles from the hit series.
