Penguin has picked up film tie-in publishing rights from Peanuts Worldwide for the big-screen debut of Charlie Brown and the gang in The Peanuts Movie.

The deal gives Penguin English-language publishing rights in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Indonesia and South Korea for the zero to seven market. Penguin will publish a sticker book and a book for the film under the Puffin imprint to accompany its fall theatrical release in 100 countries.

Directed by Steve Martino (Ice Age) and with music composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen), the movie sees beloved beagle Snoopy racing through the skies in pursuit of his nemesis The Red Baron, while Charlie Brown embarks on his own epic quest to get back home.

The 3D-animated film brings the Peanuts characters to life on the big screen 65 years after Charles M. Schulz created the comic strip, which ran until 2000, and boasts 17,897 total published strips.

Penguin also holds English-language publishing rights in selected territories for classic Peanuts titles for kids. It published Merry Christmas Snoopy! in October 2014 under the Puffin imprint and plans to expand the publishing program throughout the year with a variety of activity and picture books.
