London-based Tiger Aspect Productions, an Endemol Shine company, has named Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific as the exclusive licensing agent for Mr Bean in Asia for a three-year term.

Cartoon Network Enterprises, Turner Asia Pacific’s licensing division, will be responsible for boosting licensing revenue for Mr Bean and representing the brand in India and other key Southeast Asian markets.

This year is shaping up to be a big one for the Mr Bean franchise: the bumbling character who rarely speaks celebrates his 25th anniversary, and the second installment of The Mr Bean Animated Series debuts in Asia Pacific in April. Turner will broadcast the 2D series (52 x 11 minutes) on its kids channels, including Boomerang in Australia and Southeast Asia.

Launched in 2002, the first animated Mr Bean series has been licensed into more than 70 territories.
