Disney Junior presses play on new app for Europe

Disney EMEA has launched brand-new app, Disney Junior TV Favourites, which will enable viewers in the Nordics, the Netherlands and Austria to buy digital copies of the channel's shows for the first time.

Disney EMEA has launched a brand-new app that lets European kids watch episodes from their favorite Disney Junior shows.

iOS app Disney Junior TV Favourites features eps from Sofia the First, Doc McStuffinsJake and the Never Land Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

The app is free to download on the Apple App Store, and episodes can be purchased individually or in bundles.

Rolling out in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria, the launch marks the first time Disney Junior eps can be purchased in a digital format in these regions.

A total of 44 episodes will be available at launch, jumping to 150 over the course of the year. The shows will also be available in English, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, French, German and Danish.

As for the linear channel, according to Disney EMEA, Disney Junior is one of the top-three performing preschool channels in the EMEA market, including the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium North, Portugal, South Africa, Israel, Poland and Romania.

In other interactive news, Disney recently rolled out a new digital offering in the EMEA region for its popular Doc McStuffins property. The new online spot, Doc’s World, lets kids play games and interact with the TV show’s characters.
