British pubcaster BBC has launched its first CBBC channel-focused app. Designed for kids ages six to 12, GO CBBC complements the linear digital channel with a host of interactive offerings.

Available for free on iOS, Android and Kindle devices, the app comes with a roster of content, including games, episode clips and full-length videos, as well as behind-the-scenes snippets. It also features a slide-and-scroll cube interface similar to a game mechanic and rewards  achievements with unlockable content.

In addition, the app will be refreshed daily, giving kids the latest bulletins from CBBC’s news service Newsround, as well as access to BBC iPlayer favorites. Along with video content, GO CBBC includes a range of new games featuring characters from shows like The Dumping Ground, Wolfblood and Horrible Histories.

Each CBBC show has its own dedicated page on GO CBBC, and kids can create their own profile, where they get to choose an identity and find their game achievements. Up to four profiles can be created per app.
