FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment is bringing star power to the voice cast of the highly anticipated reboot of Danger Mouse, currently in production to air on UK pubcaster CBBC next year.

Comedian, actor and author Stephen Fry has signed on to play croquet-loving chinchilla Colonel K, while Richard Osman (Pointless) will play genius jellyfish Professor Strontium Jellyfishowitz.

Also joining the cast are Ed Gaughan (Q Pootle 5), voicing amphibious villain Baron Greenback, and Kayvan Novak (Thunderbirds Are Go!) who will handle a variety of different characters across the series.

The new cast members are set to appear alongside Alexander Armstrong, who stars as the voice of super spy Danger Mouse, and Kevin Eldon, who channels his inner hamster as trusty sidekick Penfold.

Commissioned by CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor, the co-production with FremantleMedia is being animated by Ireland’s Boulder Media, with Sarah Muller as exec producer for CBBC and Bob Higgins as exec producer for FremantleMedia, which owns the global TV and licensing rights to the series.

Originally produced by Cosgrove Hall Films, Danger Mouse ran from 1981 to 1992 on ITV. It was broadcast in more than 80 territories and was one of the first UK toons to break into the US market.
