With the latest film in DreamWorks Animation’s popular Madagascar franchise hitting US theaters today, game developer JumpStart has launched a mobile app based on the cunning birds, Penguins of Madagascar: Dibble Dash.

Featuring characters from the new Penguins of Madagascar movie, the endless runner game mixes math lessons and levity. Users can practice their arithmetic to rescue super-spies Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private from Dr. Octavius Brine’s octopus henchman and their mutant-creating goo.

Dibble Dash is the latest mobile game that JumpStart has launched in partnership with DreamWorks. Other education-focused games include School of Dragons, a multiplayer game based on DreamWork’s How to Train Your Dragon. Since the game’s web launch in July 2013, it has attracted more than 16 million users, and the iPad version has ranked as a Top 10 free game in the Apple App Store.

Now available on the App Store and Google Play, the new app will soon launch on Amazon, Facebook and Windows.

Madagascar’s characters are travelling across screens big and small. Most recently, it was announced that lordly lemur King Julien would be getting his own Netflix original series, launching December 19 on the SVOD service.
