Swedish app developer and digital toy company Toca Boca is adding to its roster with new app Toca Nature, which focuses on the natural world.

Available on the App Store (US$2.99) today, Toca Nature targets ages four and up. Notably, it features a dream-like design that’s unlike any of the company’s previous apps.

Reiterating Toca Boca’s commitment to open-ended play, the app gets kids to exploring with no in-app purchases or third-party ads. And while the app is based on the existing natural world, its animals and plants do not necessarily behave as they would in the real world. Ultimately, it’s designed to get kids to think about how the different aspects of the environment connect and interact.

Since its first product launched in 2011, Toca Boca’s apps have amassed more than 75 million downloads in 160 countries worldwide. It recently launched an Artist Play Series taking its digital-focused property into the physical realm, with a set of temporary tattoos now available at its online shop.
