It looks like Penguin is planning to stay awhile at The Furchester Hotel. Its Penguin Children’s division has acquired almost-worldwide publishing rights in all languages for the brand-new series co-produced by CBeebies and Sesame Workshop. The only territory not included in the deal struck by the property’s licensing agency CPLG is North America.

Under the Ladybird Imprint, Penguin plans to launch its publishing program in summer 2015 with storybooks, activity books and novelty titles aimed at kids ages three to six.

The Furchester Hotel is the first spin-off series of Sesame Street, and it features Elmo and his British relatives trying to run a world-class hotel. In addition to a new cast of British Muppets, Cookie Monster has found his dream job as a hotel waiter. The first of 52 11-minute eps debuted last month on CBeebies.
