Viacom International Media Networks Asia, kids game publisher Taiwan Taomee and Seoul, Korea-based digital content developer BlueArk Global have jointly launched Dora’s Learning Adventure, a multi-sensory edutainment app service for preschoolers and their parents.
Based on Nickelodeon’s beloved IP Dora the Explorer, the app provides a learning pace customized to a child’s interactive performance using multi-sensory selections including touch, voice-initiation and breath activation.
Kids can experience playful learning adventures through the app’s age-targeted weekly appisodes for mobile devices that introduce child development skills and encourage English language learning.
The developers of Dora’s Learning Adventure have also ramped up parental features by offering a dual-app mode that includes a parent-targeted app called kidswatts.
It gives parents the ability to monitor and analyze their child’s learning progress, and provides real-time feedback through daily, weekly and monthly report cards offering guidance tips.
In addition, parents can reward their children with stickers and encouraging voice messages, and an extra time management function locks kids out of the app between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. daily.
Both apps can be downloaded via subscription and are currently available for Android mobile devices in Taiwan and Hong Kong. An iOS launch is expected in late 2014.
A social media promotion in Taiwan is also in effect this month offering parents a chance to win Dora the Explorer prizes by liking the Dora’s Learning Adventure fan club on Facebook and sharing their user experience.
The app launch continues Nickelodeon’s deep dive into cross-platform interactive learning experiences for preschoolers and comes on the heels of its new PAW Patrol Rescue Run app release.
