Adding to its growing portfolio of apps for preschoolers, Disney Publishing just released Jake’s Treasure Trek, a brand new app based on Disney Junior’s hit animated series Jake and the Never Land Pirates.

Launched yesterday, Jake’s Treasure Trek is already fourth bestselling paid iPhone and iPad app in the US for kids five and under, according to analytics database App Annie.

The side-scrolling adventure game for both iPhone and iPad retails for US$2.99.

Players can immerse themselves within multiple animated stories that make up Jake’s new quest to defeat Captain Hook with the help of his loyal band of pirate friends.

The app features three environments, swimming, climbing, flying, and zip lining functions, collectible power-ups, and unlockable islands and rewards.

The release comes on the heels of Disney Publishing’s launch of Disney Story Central, its new digital library for kids and families that is currently the top five free iPad app for preschoolers in the US.
