The Next Star comes to Google Play

Tricon Films & Television has signed an agreement to bring more than 2,000 hours from its TV and film library to Google Play, including programming from Tricon Kids & Family.

The Next Star singing competition series will soon get more play in Google’s digital universe. Toronto, Canada-based Tricon Films & Television signed an agreement to bring more than 2,000 hours of content to Google Play worldwide, including programming from its Tricon Kids & Family division.

Tricon officially launched its Kids & Family division last summer, and has a library of programs that includes The Next Star, which will premiere its 7th season on Canada’s YTV next week.

Tricon also has distribution rights for an array animated preschool shows, such as Wildernuts and Shutterbugs.
