After the successful launch of the first season, Nick Jr. UK is commissioning an added 52 episodes of Sixteen South’s preschool series Lily’s Driftwood Bay.
The second season commission follows a licensing deal between Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer products (NVCP) and Sixteen South. The deal gives NVCP the licensing rights for the property within the UK and Ireland.
Lily’s Driftwood Bay (52 x seven minutes) is created and produced by Sixteen South. It premiered on Nick Jr. UK earlier this year. Since then, the series has been watched by over 1.5 million viewers.
The show follows the imaginative adventures of Lily, a six-year-old who lives with her dad in a hut on the beach. Based on an original idea from artist Joanne Carmichael, the mixed-media animation series is created entirely from items found washed up on the beach.
As Sixteen South’s newest production, Lily’s Driftwood Bay has been sold to over 20 regions, including the US, the UK, Scandinavia and Australia.
