Copenhagen, Denmark-based Ink Brands has named the Simba Dickie Group as the new master toy partner for the Masha and the Bear property in Europe, with products expected to launch in early 2015.

As a key next step in the global licensing program for the hit Animaccord Animation Studios preschool property, the new deal will see Simba Dickie produce a wide range of toys across categories including plush, construction, wooden toys, summer toys, wheeled toys and arts & crafts.

The regional scope of the deal spans Eastern Europe, GAS, Iberia, the Nordics, Benelux, France, Italy, and the UK.

Since launching in 2009, Masha and the Bear has established itself as a hugely successful brand in Russia with more than 100 licensees in categories such as publishing, puzzles, confectionery, home decorations, digital, toys and fashion, and has become a leading preschool IP in Central and Eastern Europe.

The CG-animated comedy series, which follows the adventures of a little girl called Masha and a bear who becomes her friend, has been dubbed into German, French, English and Spanish.

Ink handles the worldwide licensing program, excluding the US, for the brand, while Animaccord USA will be acting as the property’s rep across the US.
