Former Hasbro toy designer Gayle Middleton, who played a hand in the success of the My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop toy brands, is channeling her darker side in a new line of ghostly collectibles called Vamplets.

Middleton’s initial line of six Vamplet monster babies made its first debut in 2010, and now she has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund her latest designs, which include a plush Baby Undead Dragon and toe-nibbling little fur balls called Bitemares.

The campaign, which has already exceeded its goal of raising US$15,100, will run until May 19. The collectibles have already inspired a series of graphic novels from Action Labs.
