Cartoon Network has released a Powerpuff Girls-inspired game, entitled  Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville!, on online gaming platform Steam.

Developed by the  indie Radian Games, this Metroidvania-style game  follows the premiere of the Cartoon Network special The Powerpuff Girls: Danced Pantsed earlier this year, which happened to feature a performance by Beatles legend Ringo Starr.

Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville is designed to blend classic and new, with the option to play in either the original or modern art style of the 15-year-old TV show.

The game will be regularly priced at US$7.99 and will be discounted 20% at launch.
