Mike and Liz Young have reacquired 100% ownership of L.A.-based Moonscoop LLC and have rebranded the children’s content production house as Splash Entertainment with CEO and executive chairman Nicolas Atlan on-board as a new partner, and JokeBox acting as a private passive investor.

Mike Young and Atlan will now handle co-CEO duties with Liz Young remaining as president. The deal also sees Splash Entertainment take full control of free VOD network Kabillion. Moonscoop LLC previously held 84% interest in the company, which attracts more than six million views per month.

Splash is set to launch immediately as a multiplatform developer and producer of original animated children’s television brands boasting more than 500 hours of programming including series such as Chloe’s Closet, Dive Olly Dive!, Hero:108, It’s Archie and Sabrina Secrets of a Teenage Witch.

The rebrand comes on the heels of Paris-based Ellipsanime acquiring the assets of French animation company Moonscoop SA, which went into administration in July 2013.

Splash Entertainment’s goals for 2014 include producing new seasons of Sabrina Secrets of a Teenage Witch, Master Blaster and It’s Archie, as well as increasing the reach of Kabillion to 60 million US cable households.

Its current new series slate also includes a second season of Chloe’s Closet and production on The Meeps. Splash’s library features content that has aired in more than 160 territories worldwide.
