With the first toy range in place for Strange Hill High, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment has secured a number of new licensees, TV distribution deals and promotional activity for the animated comedy series.

The master toy range from Vivid, which includes figures, playsets and plush, will launch this spring and will precede the show’s second season debut on CBBC UK and ABC3 Australia later this year.

In Australia, Banter Toys has come on-board as distributor for Vivid’s products, Hardie Grant has signed up as publishing partner and Shock Entertainment has the home entertainment rights. The first season of Strange Hill High debuted on ABC3 in September, where it became the number one kids show in its time slot.

Global broadcasters set to air the show include Zoom (Israel), K2 and Frisbee (Italy), DR (Denmark), SVT (Sweden) and okto channel (Singapore).  The series is due to premiere in these territories across 2014.

In the UK, FremantleMedia is joining forces with Egmont Publishing for some extracurricular activities that will see Strange Hill High promoted in Toxic, the leading UK pre-teen boys magazine title. The property will also be promoted online and within Toxic over several months in the lead-up to and run of the new season.

The Strange Hill High brand already has 13 UK licensees. FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment’s in-house home entertainment department manages its DVD and iTunes distribution.
