In the lead-up to the 2014 World Cup, Paris-based distributor VIZ Media Europe has secured new international broadcasting deals for Victory Kickoff, a football-themed animated kids series produced by Nihon Ad Systems (NAS).

RTBF/OUFtiv (Belgium), SIC K (Portugal), Minika Go (Turkey), MBC3 (Middle East and North Africa), and RAI (Italy) are all set to premiere the series for spring 2014.

The 39 x 25-minute series for kids seven and up currently airs on Japan’s NHK and has been airing on Disney XD in France since February 2013.

Victory Kickoff was adapted for TV from Hiroto Kawabata’s novel Galaxy World Cup and follows the adventures of 12-year-old Sho Ota who dreams of becoming a football champion.

NAS is the production studio behind anime series Prince of Tennis and Yu-Gi-Oh.
