Germany’s Super RTL has inked a deal with DreamWorks Animation to expand its current relationship to include merchandising rights for the company’s well-known IP including Shrek and How to Train Your Dragon across the territory.

Just last year, Super RTL acquired the broadcast rights for DreamWorks Dragons: Riders of Berk. The series bowed last fall and was a success, with Super RTL committing to the second series that will be broadcast this year.

Additionally, DreamWorks will release How to Train Your Dragon 2 this summer. Super RTL has committed to launching a back-to-school consumer products program focused around the film in Germany.
