Plants vs. Zombies delves deeper in retail

Gaming brand Plants vs. Zombies, which is represented in Europe by Bulldog Licensing, is boosting its retail program with the additional of two new UK licensees. The news comes as Character Options readies its own spring toy collection for the Electronic Arts IP in the territory.

Gaming brand Plants vs. Zombies, which is represented in Europe by Bulldog Licensing, is boosting its retail program with the additional of two new UK licensees. The news comes as Character Options readies its own spring toy collection for the Electronic Arts IP in the territory.

Smith & Brooks has come on-board for apparel, while and Portico has signed on for greetings cards, wrap and tags.

Seattle, Washington-based PopCap Games’ Plants vs. Zombies franchise now consists of two mobile games, with the original title achieving more than 140 million downloads. Plants vs. Zombies 2 hit the market in the summer, and the brand’s Facebook game hosts more than a million players a month. Plans are currently in the works for the spring debut of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for consoles, which will continue to feature the popular zombie-zapping plants.

As far as the brand’s retail program goes, K’Nex has already been signed for construction toys, Character Options for plush and toys, Penguin for a publishing range, Titan for magazines, Magic Box for sticker books, Character World for homewares, A4T for digital peripherals, Cooneen for nightwear and underwear and GB Eye for posters.
