Turbo: FAST, the first Netlix original series for kids that was announced back in February, will make its official TV debut in time for the holidays on December 24.
The original series from DreamWorks Animation and Netflix will launch at 12:01 a.m. PT on the 24th, where it will run exclusively in all Netflix territories. Families will be able to stream the show’s first five episodes, with additional new content premiering throughout 2014.
The series is based on DreamWorks Animation’s feature film Turbo, which has grossed roughly US$280 million worldwide. The all-new television show digs deeper into the personalities of the snail crew and features a 2D design. Reid Scott from HBO series Veep lends his voice to show’s title character, and comedian Ken Jeong reprises his role from the feature film as the home shopping icon Kim Ly.
Turbo FAST was produced by DreamWorks Animation Television, with production services provided by L.A.’s Titmouse, and is based on characters created by David Soren.
