Fangbone may be a nine-year-old Skullbanian warrior willing to wage battle with the evil wizard Drool, but he first needs to find his voice, and that’s where Canadian kids will come in.

For the next five weeks, young  viewers will help determine a number of factors on the new Radical Sheep Productions/Disney XD Canada series, Fangbone, ahead of its late-January premiere.

By visiting the DisneyXD.ca website, not only can kids choose the voices of Fangbone and his sidekick, Bill The Surbanite, but they will also watch two scenes and decide on which one they want incorporated into the pilot.

This includes deciding whether the music in a scene where the pair faces off against the nasty Tyrano-pug should be dramatic or quirky.

“We are always making original content with fans in mind, and this approach gives us the chance to get the fans involved and invested from the get go,” said Michael Goldsmith, Disney XD Canada’s director of original programming, in a statement. “By allowing them to weigh in during the decision making process, we’re able to better serve our viewers and create a show that they feel connected to.”

Disney XD was recently acquired by Halifax-based DHX Media in a US$160-million deal that also includes Family channel and both Disney Junior Canada channels. The sale is pending CRTC approval.
