Germany’s Studio 100’s media sales division has signed a license agreement with European media production and distribution company Planeta Junior for the new Australian-bred series Tashi.
The deal, finalized at last week’s MIPCOM, gives Planeta Junior exclusive TV, home entertainment, on-demand, merchandising and licensing rights (excluding games, theme parks, music and stage shows) for the 52 x 12-minute series across Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Cyprus.
Currently in production, with delivery scheduled for next fall, Tashi is CGI-animated with 2D elements and is produced by Flying Bark Productions in association with Discreet Art Productions India and Telegael Teoranta.
Tashi is aimed at kids ages six to 11 and is based on the Australian children’s books by Barbara and Anna Fienberg, which have sold more than a million copies in more than 20 countries worldwide.
