Sander Schwartz exits FremantleMedia

FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment president Sander Schwartz, who created the company division in 2009, is departing later this month in order to pursue new business opportunities in TV production.

FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment president Sander Schwartz, who launched FremantleMedia division in 2009, is departing later this month in order to pursue new business opportunities in TV production.

The news comes as FremantleMedia issued a company reorg earlier this year to focus on more kids and family distribution channels. as well as digital and branded entertainment.

With 15 titles produced in collaboration with production partners from around the world, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment has an extensive portfolio that includes titles such as Tree Fu TomKate & Mim-MimStrange Hill HighWizards Vs AliensGrojband and Max Steel.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to work with the outstanding team at FremantleMedia,” Schwartz said in a statement. “Though I have decided that it’s time for me to take on a new challenge, I leave with great confidence in the company’s rich opportunity as a leader in family entertainment. It’s been an incredible experience to be able to build a division for such a respected company. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made and I know that FremantleMedia is on very firm footing for sustainable growth and success.”

No details have been announced surrounding Schwartz’s replacement, but his second-in-command, EVP of Kids & Family Bob Higgins, remains with FremantleMedia.
