Snapper Productions’ 52 x 11-minute preschool series Q Pootle 5 is heading Down Under thanks to a new deal by ZDF Enterprises and ABC TV.

The series, based on the bestselling books by author and Snapper co-founder Nick Butterworth, will begin airing on ABC4Kids on October 7 in the 5:20 p.m. time slot.

Q Pootle 5, which is produced in the UK and animated by Blue Zoo, follows the everyday adventures of a small green alien and his friends on their home planet Okidoki.

The 26-episode show has already found success in the UK where it airs on CBeebies after a pre-sale deal.

Q Pootle 5 will officially launch at MIPCOM next month and more international deals are currently being negotiated.
