Toronto, Canada-based 9 Story Entertainment’s distribution arm, 9 Story Enterprises, has picked up the global distribution and licensing rights (excluding Brazil) to the animated comedy series Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids, which was Brazil’s most viewed Pay TV program for kids four to 11 earlier this spring.

The 40 x 11-minute Haunted Tales (working title) is produced by Brazil’s Glaz Entertainment and currently airs on Cartoon Network Brazil. Cartoon Network Latin America is also set to premiere the series this Halloween.

Targeting tweens, Haunted Tales for Wicked Kids follows Pepe, a 12-year-old boy who helps out at his grandmother’s potion emporium.

For its part, 9 Story’s had a busy summer. The company’s acquired indie producer CCI Entertainment’s underlying rights to its CCI Kids children’s and family library, and last month the company’s distribution arm also picked up the second season of the 3D-animated preschool series Monkey See Monkey Do.
