After successfully partnering on Atomic Puppet, Paris-based Technicolor and Canada’s Mercury Filmworks have now paired up on a new 2D-animated preschool series, Chamelia, set to debut at Cartoon Forum this month.
Currently in development, the 52 x 11-minute series is based on the bestselling books by acclaimed author Ethan Long starring a six-year old chameleon that would rather stand out than blend into the crowd in the small town of Camouflage.
The series reinforces the joy of being unique and leverages strong social/emotional themes of diversity, acceptance, confidence and individuality.
Development of the series including a bible, two scripts and a teaser is being led by kids industry veteran John Lomas-Bullivant (Bob the Builder, The Cramp Twins).
