Within a week of Amazon-owned LOVEFiLM snapping up hundreds of hours of content from Viacom, the European streaming service has inked a content deal with Warner Bros. for a range of animated superhero-themed series.

The deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution will bring an extensive new library of animated shows to LOVEFiLM Instant, which will include more than 15 years’ worth of Batman series, from Batman: The Animated Series (1992) through to Batman: The Brave and the Bold (2011). Also heading to the service is Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League and Young Justice. Both the original 1980s Thundercats and the more recent 2011 adaptation are also available to stream starting today.

LOVEFiLM has undoubtedly been busy as it vies for kids’ attention against competitors like Netflix, which is growing its own presence in the UK and Ireland. Children’s content has been growing steadily on the LOVEFiLm service thanks to recent agreements with Disney, Marvel, NBCUniversal Kids, Saban, Aardman and DHX Media.
