The upcoming 2013 Asian Animation Summit event, which will take place from December 9 to 11 in Phuket, Thailand, now has Thai government agency SIPA (Software Industry Promotion Agency) on-board as supporting partner.

As many as three projects from Thai producers will be joining the presentation showcase, which is designed to encourage co-production and co-financing of children’s animation within the Asian region and beyond.

In related news, former Australian Broadcasting Corporation TV director Kim Dalton is set to present on the importance of storytelling in animation at next week’s ContentAsia Summit, running from September 3 to 6 in Singapore. Dalton will touch on the power of storytelling in making a difference and the opportunities that abound for co-production within the Asian region. Kidscreen is an official media sponsor of the event.
