As Cartoon Network looks to further engage its audience through social media and mobile devices, Turner Broadcasting’s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media Group has added Jill King to the newly created role of SVP of its sponsorship group.
King will oversee all aspects of strategic partnerships, event marketing and trade marketing that support cable networks Cartoon Network and Adult Swim and their ancillary digital businesses. She will work closely with Turner`s Young Adult sales management to develop strategies that drive revenue for the division, including delivering advertising upfront strategies. She`ll also oversee marketing partnerships with relevant brands.
King returns to Turner following nearly two years as an independent consultant to the division while based overseas. In her previous role, King served as SVP of strategic marketing and partnerships for the group, where she was responsible for overseeing the development and execution of promotional marketing programs that supported advertising sales and brand priorities for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. Prior to this, she was VP, promotions marketing and sponsorships for the networks. She first came to Turner Broadcasting in 2000 to serve as a new media consultant to Cartoon Network. Previously, she was a researcher at The Coca-Cola Company.
