The Archie Comics brand may be 70 years old, but its characters are about to get younger.

US-based Moonscoop has partnered with Archie Comics to co-produce new tween-focused animated series,  It’s Archie, which features the Riverdale gang as 12-year-olds.

The two companies have previously collaborated on the re-imagined series Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch.

Archie, Betty, Jughead, Veronica & Reggie will star in the first 52 x 11-minute season that will be offered up at MIP Junior and MIPCOM in October.

The 2D series catches Archie and his friends on the cusp of transitioning to teens, as they attend a modern-day Riverdale Jr. High.
