The new CG-animated 26 x half-hour TV version of Ubisoft’s Raving Rabbids video game franchise, entitled Rabbids Invasion, is set to make its US debut on Nickelodeon on August 3.
Rabbids Invasion, which is produced by Ubisoft and will also be available on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video Xbox Video, PlayStation Store, Samsung Media Hub and Vudu beginning a day after broadcast, follows the comedic and chaotic exploits of the Rabbids as they wreak havoc in the human world.
The series will launch across Nick channels internationally from fall 2013, but in advance of its US debut, fans can access photo galleries and animated gifs and videos from the series starting July 17.
Meanwhile, the popular ‘Do Not Touch’ button within the Nick App will also feature humorous clips of the Rabbids and on Nick.com/rabbids, Rabbids Rhythm Game will launch August 26.
Since Ubisoft unveiled the brand for the Nintendo Wii in 2006, viral videos based on the Rabbids have attracted more than 62 million views on YouTube, more than 14 million video games have been sold worldwide, and with the new series, Ubisoft plans to expand the already extensive consumer products program for the property across categories including apparel, accessories, toys, and back-to-school.
