Peanuts Worldwide is expanding a previously inked Vine video partnership with animator Khoa Phan – and its social media footprint – to encompass the day-old Instagram video service.

The stop-motion animator, who has earned accolades for his short videos on the Twitter-owned app, has been commissioned to create 10 custom videos for the new Instagram video service throughout the course of next year. The videos will feature the Peanuts characters and will be housed on the company’s @Snoopygrams Instagram account. The first video will debut next month.

Last month, Phan was signed to a 12-Vine deal with Peanuts Worldwide for six-second themed videos using the Vine platform. To date, he has created more than 100 vines and has attracted more than 44,000 followers.

The short-form video sharing tool from Facebook-owned Instagram made its debut yesterday and has been instantly deemed a competitor to Vine, which launched in January. However, major differences abound, such as Instagram’s 15-second video limit as opposed to Vine’s six seconds as well as varying filming styles.
