After a strong response in the region to season one, China’s IPTV service BesTV has picked up season two of the New Zealand-bred preschool series The WotWots.

The Pukeko Pictures-produced property is also expanding its presence in Southeast Asia thanks to a new licensing deal with Global Pursuit.

The new consumer products licensing, marketing and brand equity company has signed on to rep the popular brand featuring SpottyWot and DottyWot in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand across merchandising, publishing and digital gaming rights.

AG Properties, the IP’s global licensing agent, brokered the deal.

The WotWots is currently seen in more than 90 countries worldwide. It premiered on BesTV, which has over 20 million subscribers, in November 2011.

Extensions already include apps, and the brand has added a raft of new international agents of late.
