The European licensing program surrounding the Cut the Rope mobile brand is picking up momentum thanks to the debut of Cut the Rope: Time Travel, which has topped the action games app lists in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the UK since launching last month.

The brand’s European licensing campaign, managed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment on behalf of ZeptoLab, is adding Backstage Licensing as a sub-agent for Italy. Backstage joins seven sub-agents across Europe and the Middle East in the UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia, Spain, Central and Eastern Europe and Israel.

Cut the Rope’s number of European licensees is nearing 50, and its new collectible toy range from Vivid Imaginations also made its UK debut last month. Further products are due at retail later in the year spanning apparel, gifting, publishing, mobile and games accessories.

Meanwhile, ZeptoLab and ITV Studios Global Entertainment are launching their 10 new webisodes featuring the Om Nom Stories animated series, which will be integrated into Cut the Rope: Time Travel.  A third season of the web-based kids’ series is scheduled to debut later this year. ZeptoLab has also recently partnered with Sony Pictures Television to produce a live-action game show based on Cut the Rope.

The three games included in the Cut the Rope franchise have been downloaded more than 300 million times since the first debuted in October 2010.
