Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is looking to put the Lego Friends franchise into the hands of more girls by introducing the property to Nintendo DS and 3DS handhelds this fall.

Currently in development, Lego Friends will offer creative gameplay based on the popular girl-skewing collection of building sets that launched last year and took home the Toy of the Year Award in February.

The friendship-themed games will give players the freedom to explore areas and activities, such as participating in a dance routine in the studio, taking part in soccer practice, or customizing their character.

Additionally, players can care for a variety of different pets by training and grooming them. Players can also trade places with the pets to play the game from the animal’s perspective.

The games are being developed by TT Games, in partnership with Hellbent Games.
