Even diaries can’t hide from digital makeovers.

From toy/digital entertainment company Dano comes the iHeart Locket iPad app. The free app allows kids to express themselves using photos, stickers, drawings and voice notes, and the coinciding wearable necklace serves a key that transmits a unique code that opens the app.

In addition, photos that are saved to the diary can be printed out to fit the small picture frame on the iHeart necklace.

Dano, a traditional toy company, made its foray into the app space in 2010 with Little Sky Writers. The company is also behind the AppCrayon iPad stylus.
